Everything you need to know—straight from our little micro flower farm in Jervis Bay.
If you’ve ever wondered how flower subscriptions actually work—or if they’re right for you—let me take you behind the scenes. Think of this as a cuppa-and-a-chat with your local flower grower (hi, Nerida here!), where I spill all the petals on how we get fresh, seasonal blooms from seed to your home every single week.
Let’s dive in.
What Exactly Is a Flower Subscription?
Simply put, a flower subscription means you receive a fresh bunch of farm-grown blooms once a week for either 4, 6, or 8 weeks.
No commitments to big florist chains, no generic grocery-store flowers—just honest, seasonal beauty grown right here at Petal & Bee.
But ours are a little different…

What Makes Petal & Bee Subscriptions So Special?
Every flower you receive starts life as a tiny seed in our soil, nurtured on our small Jervis Bay micro farm. We don’t import flowers. We don’t buy in bulk. And we certainly don’t coat them in the weird chemicals that often come on commercial blooms.
Sure, our flowers get a spritz of seaweed tonic (the fishy stuff that makes them happy), but that’s it. They’re safe to sniff, safe to enjoy, and occasionally—if you’re lucky—you’ll spot a little ladybug hitching a ride.
And because everything is seasonal, the flowers you receive are exactly what’s blooming right now. No forcing, no refrigeration, no plastic-wrapped blooms. Just nature doing her thing.
Who Are Subscriptions Designed For?
In short: YOU!
Life gets busy—school drop-offs, after-school sport, 9–5 workdays, feeding everyone, restocking the snack cupboard again, juggling home life, and doing it all on repeat.
It’s no wonder so many of us end up exhausted and burnt out.
And that’s exactly who our flower subscriptions are designed for.
Fresh flowers are a gentle, joyful form of self-care. A weekly moment that’s just for you.
Whether you’re swinging by the flower stand or having them delivered to your door, that bouquet becomes your reminder to slow down, breathe, and let something beautiful brighten your week.
They’re the mood boost you didn’t know you needed—but will absolutely look forward to.
So… How Does It Actually Work?
It’s simple.
- Choose your subscription length - pick from a 4, 6 or 8 week subscription.
- Choose pickup or delivery - Farm stand pickup from our farm in Tomerong on Thursday afternoons, or local delivery on Friday between 9.30am till 2.30pm (just check if your suburb is on our list first)
- Enjoy your weekly blooms! We harvest your bunch first thing in the morning on your subscription day—before the birds wake up—so your flowers have the longest vase life possible.
- Not available one week? No problem! Just give us plenty of notice and you can:
-
- Have a friend/relative collect your flowers for you
- Gift your bunch to a friend; and
- Pause that week and either double up the following week, or add an extra week to the end of your subscription!
Flexible. Kind. Local. Easy.

What Flowers Will I Actually Get?
Whatever is blooming that week.
Summer and autumn you can expect a colourful mix of:
- Dahlias
- Zinnias
- Cosmos
- Celosia
- And many other seasonal treasures
Subscribers get first pick of the field—always. If it’s blooming beautifully, it’s going in your bunch.
Style-wise, expect a wild garden aesthetic—bigger than our farm stand bunches, a touch smaller than our medium arrangements, and always a true reflection of the patch that week.
Behind the Scenes: How We Prep Your Flowers
I’m out in the field early—very early. Harvesting at sunrise keeps the blooms hydrated, crisp, and ready to last as long as possible once they reach your vase.
After picking, flowers are conditioned, cooled, sorted, and bundled with care. Subscribers don’t just get what’s “leftover”—you get the best of the best, the freshest of the fresh, and whatever Mother Nature has decided to show off that week.
A Little Case Study: What Subscribers Actually Think
One of our lovely subscribers recently left this review after completing a 4-week subscription:
“Recently purchased a 4 week flower subscription, I kept some and gifted some, they were so beautifully and creatively put together every time, a real treat and highlight of my week.”
This is exactly why I love offering subscriptions. Watching people light up when they collect their bunch—or when we deliver it to their doorstep—is one of the best parts of my week.
Are There Any Challenges?
Oh yes.
We’re a small farm, so subscriptions are always limited. Once spots are gone, that’s it until the next season.
And we’re at the mercy of weather…
A freak storm, a heatwave, a surprise bug invasion—these things can wipe out parts of the field overnight. If something ever affects your subscription, I’ll keep you updated straight away. It’s all part of real, honest, small-scale flower farming.

The Biggest Misconception About Flower Subscriptions?
That they’re not flexible.
But here at Petal & Bee, as long as we get plenty of notice, we can make almost anything work. Holiday? Appointment? Kids’ sport? No stress. We’ve got options.
Why I Love Offering Subscriptions
Sharing our flowers with the local community is honestly one of my greatest joys. Seeing the excitement when someone picks up their bunch or opens their door to them—it’s magic.
Flowers make people happy. And I’m so grateful that I get to bring that happiness to your home, week after week.
